If you've been landing in the same spots on Rondo since the map launched, update 42.2 has changed the math. Developers redistributed loot density to spread players out more — some fan-favourite hot drops got nerfed, and previously ignored areas got real upgrades.
Top 5 Spots Right Now
1. Porto District (Central Docks)
Still one of the highest loot-density zones on the map even after the patch. Two large warehouse buildings consistently spawn Level 3 armour and bolt-action rifles. The catch: everyone knows this. Expect four or five squads minimum. Land here if you want a fight, not if you want to gear up safely.
2. Armazém Industrial (Northeast Industrial Zone)
This is the post-42.2 winner. Loot density was bumped significantly while player traffic stayed low. Multiple multi-floor buildings, vehicle spawns nearby, and a clean rotation path toward the centre. If you want Level 2+ gear with half the lobbies, this is your spot right now.
3. Miradouro (Hilltop Overlooks)
Elevated terrain with consistent sniper rifle spawns — SKS, SLR, and occasional AWM-adjacent loot. The high ground also gives you immediate map control once you're geared. Not the fastest loot route but the positioning payoff is real, especially in squads with a dedicated sniper.
4. Mercado Central (Central Market)
Fast and dense. ARs, SMGs, and healing items spawn reliably throughout the market stalls and backrooms. Best for solo or duo play where you need to be mobile fast. Watch the narrow alley chokepoints — they're the most common kill locations in the area.
5. Estação (Train Station)
Chaotic opening fights, but the multi-level structure gives you room to manoeuvre if you land smart. The upper floors and rafters are where the good loot hides while everyone else fights over ground floor. High risk, high reward — solid for confident close-range players.
What 42.2 Changed
Riot's stated goal was to stop the entire lobby funnelling into three locations every match. They've partially achieved it — Industrial and Miradouro are getting noticeably more traffic now than pre-patch. The central hot drops are still viable but they're no longer guaranteed gearing spots. Adjust your landing strategy accordingly.
